Research Focus:
The regulatory role of epigenetic modifications in neural development.
Epigenetic modifications, including DNA methylation and histone demethylation, are critical for proper nervous system development. Dysregulation of epigenetic processes has been implicated in a range of neurological disorders, such as autism spectrum disorders and schizophrenia. Utilizing mouse models, we integrate advanced approaches in cell biology, molecular biology, electrophysiology, and behavioral science to investigate the mechanisms by which epigenetic modifications govern neural development. Additionally, we aim to uncover the pathophysiological underpinnings of autism and explore potential therapeutic strategies.
